For its second Annual Benefit, castillo/corrales offers its benefactors an editioned artwork, specially produced for the occasion.
This year, artist Clément Rodzielski has created a singular work that reflects the situation of the benefit, and the community it aims at gathering and creating. Témoin consists of a baton relay in bright colour aluminium, the same kind used in relay race. The stick is hollow and it conceals a print, rolled in it, as a hidden message passed along with the shiny baton. The print is 50 cm long, and 28 cm large, digitally printed; it’s a monochrome field, through which a digital cut is running, revealing the promises of an image lying underneath.
Témoin exists in six variations — six batons of different colours are associated each with a different print — and also functions as a series.
From 22 to 27 October, Clément Rodzielski’s Benefit edition will be shown at the FIAC art fair in Paris, on the booth of castillo/corrales (1.H25).

Pour la deuxième édition de sa “Benefit”, castillo/corrales offre à celles et ceux qui le soutiennent par une donation une édition spécialement réalisée pour l’occasion.
C’est cette année l’artiste Clément Rodzielski qui a conçu une œuvre originale, dont les composants ne sont pas sans évoquer le système d’entraide et d’interdépendance sur laquelle repose le monde de l’art.
Intitulée Témoin, l’édition se compose d’un véritable « témoin »: un tube d’aluminium coloré du même type que ceux qu’utilisent les athlètes lors de courses de relais. Dans son creux, le tube renferme une image, une impression sur papier, circulant comme un message secret caché au sein d’un objet anodin. Le tirage, qui fait 50 cm de long, est un champ monochrome qui laisse entrevoir, par une déchirure courant sur sa surface, un fragment d’image.
L’édition se décline en six versions, selon le jeu de couleurs des témoins, et le principe d’élaboration des images. Témoin se décline ainsi comme une série.
Du 22 au 27 octobre, l’édition est présentée à la FIAC sur le stand de castillo/corrales (1.H25).
